Happy or Sad?

A while ago, someone gave me a question, would you like to feel happy every time you wake up?

Well for me, I see that question as: Would you like to be always happy?

My answer would be no. Not yet. In this stage of mine, I don't like to be happy nor sad. I want to be neutral. Why? Being sad makes you a useless person. Being sad makes you lazy. Being sad makes your self-confidence go down. However, being happy makes you distracted and bias. When you are happy, you tend to see all the positive things, and not the negative ones. Your emotion changes your decision. For example, when you are happy, you tend to see things positively and you try to have hope that you can do it, even though it is impossible.

I don't like my feelings affect my thinking. I like my decisions to be messed up by the feelings that I have. I am better to work when I feel nothing.

However, is it bad to be happy or sad?

It's not also bad to be happy. Being happy motivates you. Being happy makes you believe that you still deserve to live in this world.

It's not also bad to be sad. After you overcome sadness, you tend to learn something. In that way, you can be a better person. You can realize something as you overcome sadness. You can realize that the things that you thought are not actually like that. Sadness gives you wisdom.

The thing is, you can't control your feelings. You can't stop yourself from feeling. You can't make yourself totally blind. What gives you these feelings? Your own doings and the people around you. It's inevitable. Maybe that's how life works. You can't have the absolute power to it. Just like a boat in a river. You can't control the river current by the use of boat. All you can do it go with the flow. Life is full of surprises and complex people. You can't predict what will happen. You can't have the absolute power of yourself. The society, the people, and the environment may have been controlling half of yourself.
